My Story

Coming from a family of off-road Motorcycle enthusiats, I began riding a 3 wheeler at age 3 and began racing Motocross at age 5. My grandpa started the now longest running, family owned, Yamaha dealership in the country, Bobby J's Yamaha. My parents both rode and raced motorcycles as well. I grew up traveling the country racing all the big amateur Motocross races. I was one of the best amateurs of the 90's racing with the likes of Carmichael, Pastranna, Fonseca, Tedesco, Walker, just to name a few. I was able to win over 50 National titles including 4 AMA Loretta Lynn Championships, 12 Ponca City Championships, 15 World Mini GP titles, 15 Texas Spring National titles, Numerous Mini O titles and the 1997 Bronze Boot award. As a Professional I struggled a bit more, but I feel God led me through those struggles to be a more well rounded coach to my riders today. Even with less of a career than I expected, I still managed to Win the San Diego AMA Supercross Lites class main event in 2001. I had 4 career AMA Supercross podiums and numerous top 10 finishes. I finished top 10 three times in the series with a career best of 3rd in the series. I also won the 125cc class at Bercy Supercross being crowned 'Prince of Bercy in 2000.  I also had several Top 10 finishes in the AMA Professional MX Series as well. At the age of 26, my wife and I had our first child and I decided to hang up my racing boots and pursue a career as a coach. I have now been coaching riders full time for 16 years. I have worked with Hundreds, maybe over a thousand different riders and honed my coaching skills over that time. I try to to give each of my students the individual attention they deserve in order to help them reach their full potential. I believe in building a foundation of Body positioning and technique on the bike first. This allows for a smooth, safe rider as they build their speed. I look forward to coaching you or your rider!
